Hello BMS Families,

The winter season is upon us and with the cold weather brings the possibility of Non-Traditional Instruction(NTI) days. Our teachers and staff will continue to BUILD, MOLD, and SERVE our students and families during these NTI days. We want to communicate this plan with you to ensure the continued success of all our students during these NTI days. NTI class procedures, expectations, and schedule can be found on our website in the NTI tab. For Care & Connect and all classes, students will access a Google Meet link in their Google Classroom. Students use Google Classroom on a regular basis and will be reviewing the Google Meet Link in all classes. While we understand that there are extenuating circumstances at times that may limit internet access, participation in these NTI Google Meets is expected and we appreciate your continued support in your child’s educational experience. NTI Class Procedures & Expectations

Be Engaged Pay attention to the speaker. It is expected that you are fully engaged in the conversation and that you are not distracted by

outside factors like phones, video games, playing with pets, and eating while in a Meet.

Molding Focus on your small actions by doing your best to be on time for your Google Meet. You can always enter early, but mute your

microphone and camera.

We will be taking attendance.

Enter Google Meet at Level 0. Mute your microphone.

Respect Yourself and Others- If you need your teachers attention, please raise your hand. Wait your turn to be called on. Mute your microphone until you are

called on. Speak clearly for the

group to hear when it is your turn.

Mute your microphone when finished.

Be camera ready. Change out of your PJs and be presentable. Sit Up in a

chair or sofa. Do not enter class

lying down.

Treat each Google Meet as if you are sitting in that class and be sure to RESPECT yourself, your classmates, and your teachers. If you wouldn’t do something in class, don’t do it during the Meet. TURN ON YOUR CAMERA so your teacher can see your face & knows it is you.

In order for everyone to FOCUS at the highest level possible, avoid typing in the chat without being called on or asked to do so. Typing in the chat while the teacher is leading is like talking out in class without permission.
