English Day 3

Learning Target: I can set up my English ISN, identify my first choice novel, and identify novels to add to my to-read list this year.

ISN Set up

ISN = Interactive Student Notebook��This is the notebook you will need to bring to English every day and use for notes.

Reading logs

• Daily
• Quarterly

Reading Rate

Read for 10 minutes. Count the number of pages read.

X 3 (for 30 minutes a day)

X 5 (for school days a week)

=

# of pages you can read in a school week in that book

How many pages do you read in 10 minutes?

EXAMPLE

8 pages in 10 minutes

So that means in 30 minutes...

Triple the page number

=

24 pages in 30 minutes

Expected pages to be read in a week

​

24 pages per night X 5 days a week

= 120 pages a week
