Resizing on iOS

For example, take EN 301 549’s clauses for Resize text (11.1.4.4.1 and 11.1.4.4.2).

Not all items resize on Android and iOS, and the user experience is different on each platform.

On iOS text labels in the bottom Tab Bar do not resize with increasing text size settings.

This is likely because of restricted space in the interface.

It is deliberate behaviour, meaning it is expected behaviour for experienced users.

Instead, users are shown a large preview of the tab item when they hold their finger over them.

When "Larger Accessibility Sizes" is enabled in the Larger Text settings and an accessibility size is then selected, a large preview of the tab label appears in the middle of the screen when users press and hold their finger over (long press) the Tab Bar items.
A similar thing happens for Segmented Controls on iOS – a drop down appears.
