Beginning of the class

  • Get your Warm-up math paper out of your binders and work on it (5 min)
  • Good things while checking your answers for warm-up (I may ask you to share your warm-up too)
  • Everyone's participation is required and encouraged.

End of the class

  • Clean your desk: return pencils, markers and other supplies
  • Look around and pick up things from the floor
  • Push in the chair
  • Stand next to your seat and you will be dismissed at the bell.
  • Only 6th period students will need to stack the chairs before dismissal.
  • DO NOT Line-up at the door.

  • In classroom website, all resources are arranged by chapter.
  • Weekly Calendar posted in the Google Classroom and on Website
  • Weekly presentations are also posted and updated daily.

  • Pay attention while taking notes
  • Your participation is REQUIRED
  • Learning comes from participation
  • Ask questions if you need help
  • Check Chapter Digital Notes if you miss anything

  • We will have 10-15 minutes every day to work in class
  • Make sure to submit your homework and note down the problems that are incorrect.
  • Ask for help and take notes while we go through solutions
  • Once we go through the problems, you can resubmit your homework for a full credit potential.
  • You can only work on the assignments if we are in the same Chapter.
  • Once the Chapter Test is finished, no late work is accepted.
  • Email me if you turn in late work, Big Ideas DOES NOT send me notifications.

  • At the end of each chapter there will be a test. Tests will be different formats: paper, online, posters, projects
  • If you are not happy with your test results you will have 2 weeks (from the day you receive your test back) to retake the test. No exceptions.

Tests and test-Retakes

  • You will be given a practice test and test date ahead of time.
  • Plenty of practice questions/exercises will be given before the test.
  • You will be able to use this notes when taking the test.
  • If you are given an online test you are still required to show your work on a paper.

For re-take

  • You MUST finish all homework assignments, recommended IXL sections and/or Skills Trainers with 80% or better score.
  • After reviewing the test, you should correct the problems that are incorrect and submit a picture of the work.
