Why is D2L Email Changing?
The President’s Enrollment Management Taskforce , which met throughout 2024, identified dual email accounts as a key barrier to effective communication, especially for students, causing confusion and a lot of missed messages over the years.

Why Should Faculty Prepare Now?
While the change is two semesters away, it is recommended that faculty take action now and be prepared.

On May 13, 2026, all the email in your D2L inbox, custom folders, and trash will be deleted.
Neither eLearning nor ITS will be able to retrieve any deleted email.
Taking action now will provide time to get used to the new email process in D2L.
Reason 4
Forwarding now, will provide an entire year of emails saved in your Outlook.
