Why is D2L Email Changing?

The President’s Enrollment Management Taskforce , which met throughout 2024, identified dual email accounts as a key barrier to effective communication, especially for students, causing confusion and a lot of missed messages over the years.

How is D2L Email Changing?

    • Faculty and students will receive and reply to email only in LCC Outlook / Gmail.
    • It is recommended that faculty and students send emails from within D2L.

    • Once an initial email is sent from D2L, all further conversation will take place solely in Outlook and/or Gmail.
    • Will need to check for email more frequently as D2L will no longer provide new email alerts.

One Email to Check

D2L Email Will Become “Send Only”

Just Like Any Other Email

    • Faculty - LCC Outlook will be integrated with D2L.
    • Student - LCC Gmail will be integrated with D2L.

Reason 2

Reason 3

On May 13, 2026, all the email in your D2L inbox, custom folders, and trash will be deleted.
