Mclean-Franciscan CBAT PROGRAM�an acute residential treatment program

POPULATION SERVED

Youth ages 4 to 14

Admitted for 2-3week focused on acute stabilization and safety planning. Referrals from either emergency dept or community crisis teams

Commonly presenting with suicidal ideation, self-harm behaviors, and/or aggression

Program is insurance based and approximately 60% are youth on MassHealth

Diverse pt population in terms of gender, race, cultural experience, family structure, SES, and diagnoses.

PROGRAM EXPERIENCE

  • Group and individual therapy in a short-term, acute residential treatment program
  • Participation in family, systems, and educational meetings. Lots of consultation with systems!
  • Interdisciplinary rounds twice per week
  • This is a fully in person training experience and requires three days per week
  • Weekly didactics at Franciscan Children’s and access to grand rounds by both Boston Children’s and MGB/Mclean
  • This is NOT an assessment site!
  • Training year is September – June

*This program follows the PTC notification date. We will not offer our positions until this date. The 2026-2027 training season notification date will be:
