What is Twitter?
Twitter is an online social networking service where users create short 140 character text messages, called ‘tweets’.
Tweets are used to share advice, thoughts, links and opinions.
900 million tweets are sent a day.
Twitter is no longer for following celebrities or posting what you had for breakfast. Teachers have taken over!
Why use Twitter?
- Connect and collaborate with experts from all over the world.
- Share resources and ideas quickly
- Gather resources and links
- It’s a virtual staffroom
- Connect with like-minded people
- Get the latest news and ideas in education
- It comes to you!
- Create a Personal Learning Network (PLN).
