Introduction

As the world is turning to the screens for business, education, networking, etc, one needs to know exactly what to do online and how to strategically and productively position him or herself.

This event will discuss key issues in relation to the subject and equip participants with knowledge and skill they need while online.

Which kind of gadget do you need?

  • You need to have internet-enabled digital communication gadgets.
  • Today, a hand-held such as a smartphone and a laptop is just good enough.
  • Though some people own more than a smartphone and a laptop, but knowing how to work with the digital gadget you own is very important. Else, it becomes like a show off gadget.
  • How much you exploit the digital gadget you own is what makes a difference. Else, it is not all about how expensive your gadget is but rather, how much productive work are you using it for?!

Which kind of online platforms do you need?

Consider the following before you choose an online platform for yourself, organization, business, etc:

  • Easy to use
  • Reach
  • Security
  • Virtual Interaction (able to: build a community, comment, access and share videos, photos, text and audio)
  • Analytics and able to evaluate your activities

 What determines your target audience?

  • Your target audience refers to the specific group of consumers most likely who are interested in your product or service, and therefore, the group of people who should see your online content.
  • Target audience may be dictated by age, gender, income, location, interests or a number of other factors.

How to package your content?

Content packaging is very important if at all you need to register tangible successes online. The following are key:

  • Create Truly Valuable Content and always be objective.
  • Use the Right Tone of Voice.
  • Incorporate Visuals. In most cases, avoid just sharing text but always mixing photos or videos as they communicate much as compared to plain text content.
  • Be Brief but very clear. People have much to catchup online and won’t really take much time reading through a very long passage especially if they don’t know who you are.

How to productively engage and motivate your audience?

  • Have a plan first before you begin engaging with people online.
  • Always be objective and consistent with the kind of content you share online.
  • Always sharing something online. This will attract others to come into your circles.
  • Always get involved in others’ online businesses. Be social and always like, share and comment on others’ content.
  • Be on more than one online platform.
  • Be able to travel and meet people and the same people will confidently introduce you to their networks.
