What is CLT Edgefest?

On June 11th, 2022 the Charlotte Street Art Collaborative presented the inaugural : CLT Edgefest at Charlotte Art League. CLT Edgefest is a one of a kind festival with large scale live paints by local mural artists, DJ, music & dance performances, spoken word, yoga, interactive art experiences & workshops, art scavenger hunt, roller skaters, & other artists of varied genres. This event is free to the public & the culmination of months of hard work that local artists put in to share their talents & knowledge with the community. All participating artists, performers, & instructors are paid for their efforts through the generosity of donors like you. On July 15th, 2023 we made the magic happen bigger & better. Our mission is to assist, support, educate, and inspire current & next generation artists towards attaining & maintaining a sustainable living in the arts. We facilitate this via free to low cost events, workshops, & murals where the artists get paid & vending is free. This festival bloomed from this sense of purpose & became so much more. In addition to this signature festival we have conducted artist workshops, painted murals, created films, & put on smaller scale events in the region. The connections forged at CLT Edgefest & the joy that manifested, continues to blossom daily. We will embark upon this magnificent journey again at NoDa Brewing on July 13th 2024 from 3-9 PM & would love for you to be a part of the adventure!

MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to encourage & assist current & next generation artists to work towards a sustainable living in the arts through education & exposure to a diverse range of art mediums. We value deeply the importance of accessibility & inclusion as an essential component of what we do, for when an individual feels capable & supported a world of opportunity blooms.

We facilitate this via free & low-cost events, workshops, & murals with educational & inspirational purpose, providing stipends to the artists facilitating the programs & offering free vending opportunities.

As our name states Street Art is at our core, but we are a collaborative effort bringing artists from all realms together including but not limited to painters, mural artists, sketch artists, performing artists (musical & otherwise), digital artists, dancers, spoken word artists, & more.

There is also a mental & physical health support component woven into all our events with yoga, wellness classes, inspirational imagery, affirming verbiage, and more.
