  • ServSafe California Food Handler Certification
  • Industry-recognized HTA Certificate
  • California Department of Apprenticeship Standards Certification
  • U.S. Department of Labor Certification

Pre-Apprenticeship

  • Industry-recognized HTA Certificate

Admissions Requirements

  • Valid work authorization
  • Selective Service Registration (male only)
  • 18 years old when you graduate
  • Commitment to work full time

Class Schedule

  • 4 days per week
  • 6 hours per day (mornings or afternoons)
  • Most Wednesdays off

You must commit to be there!

Expectations at HTA

  • Be on time.
  • Treat everyone with respect and be a team player.
  • Substance-free and pass a drug test.
  • Do the work required in class.
  • Ability to practice or study at home.
  • Stay on top of applications and interviews.

Job Placement

  • If you graduate, you will receive at least one interview with a partner employer.
  • You are expected to take any full-time job that a partner employer offers you.

Expectations on the Job

  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work and stand 10-12 hours per day.
  • Ability to get to work.
  • Stay connected with HTA after graduation.
