Step 1: With partners, brainstorm ideas of what object you might make. Consider your audience and purpose. ​

Step 2: Work independently to build an object out of a single color of play dough.​

Step 3: Talk with partners about what you made. Add details by using the second color of dough​

​

Step 4: Label by adding a title and the artist’s name. Allow students to have a gallery walk. ​

​

Step 5: Use the sculpture as a springboard for writing.​
