Use this Question Ladder to help you break down a compelling question into smaller, focused supporting questions. Each step helps you think more deeply about what you need to know to answer the big question.

Step #1: Write the big question you are trying to answer.

Step #2: Identify Key Words or Ideas. Circle or underline the key words that stand out.
