What You Need

  • A Partner - 2 student anglers per boat (current 8th – 12th grade) *due to limited opportunities seniors should fish with seniors
  • Boat and Boat Captain
    • Boat captain must be 18 years of age or older
    • 16’ minimum (max 250 hp) with built-in live well, kill switch and boat insurance ($300k liability)
  • Gear and Tackle
    • Rod(s), reel(s), lures, net, approved measuring device (we will provide), trolling motor, life vests & reliable cell phone.
    • 16 years or older - fishing license
  • Boater safety certificate highly recommended - may be required next season
  • Registration Fee - $150 per student angler ($100 for current seniors due to limited participation options)
    • Includes: Apparel (Jersey, Hat, Sweatshirt/Jacket), entry into all BASS league tournaments & SATT league fee*
  • Passion to get outdoors and patience to have fun.

*SATT & MLF require separate entry fees paid by anglers for each tournament

Smaller tournaments (~40 boats) with 9 conferences around the state

    • Local qualifiers – dates tentative
      • June 11 - Lake Waconia (Wed)
      • June 18 – Washington/Stella (Wed)
      • July 16 – Clearwater (Wed)
    • State Tournament - TBA

SATT (Student Angler Tournament Trail) - www.mnsatt.org

Tournaments with anglers from ALL schools across state limited to 150 – 200 boats

      • May 18 - Regional Event Day - Southern Division - Mississippi Pools 6&7
      • June 1- Le Homme Dieu (largemouth only)
      • June 15 - Gull Lake Chain
      • July 13 – Mille Lacs
      • July 27 – Mississippi Pools 4&5
      • TOC Pokegama (Grand Rapids) - Top 10% of each qualifier invited
    • Top 3 PLHS teams will be invited to the State Team Event 8/24 on Lake Vermillion

Bass League Information

  • Prior Lake is part of the Southwest Metro Conference
    • Teams Included: Prior Lake, Jordan, Shakopee, Holy Family, Scott West
  • $12 BASS membership - Anglers or Parents do on your own at:

    • This is a Discounted BASS membership for High School students
    • (DO NOT renew via mail/email promo for $30)

  • 2025 Graduates (current seniors)
    • Can not participate in BASS (can participate in SATT & Lund Virtual Leagues)

New point changes for 2025:

First place =100 points & last place =40 points

  • Did not weigh/no fish = last place -3
  • Did not weigh-in) = 25 points - IF YOU LEAVE EARLY LET US KNOW
  • Did Not Fish = 0 (no change)

SATT (Student Angler Tournament Trail) League Information

  • SATT tournaments can fill up FAST
  • Parents or anglers responsible to sign up if going to any of these
  • SATT $25 league fee will be paid in your PLHS dues
    • Each tournament will cost an additional $40 per boat
  • Awards at each qualifier
    • 1st – 5th place boats
    • 1st – 3rd place HS teams with top three boats
    • Biggest Bass
  • 2025 SATT tournament winnings are:
    • 1st place each qualifier = $1,000 scholarship each student & 2nd place $500 scholarship
    • Highest finishing Lund boat will earn $2,000 & 2nd place $1,000 for each tournament
  • Qualify for TOC by being in top 10% of each qualifier
  • SATT sends 14 teams to nationals based on HS team of the year points
    • HS Team points start at 200 for #1 and go to 199 for #2 and so on
  • Senior graduates can fish and go to state that calendar year but not nationals.
  • Rules meetings for SATT are mandatory, usually the evening before tournament

  • Each team should select circuits and/or tournaments to be in now and set your team schedule.
  • We will ask for your planned schedule in April for planning purposes. This is most important for BASS circuit as we likely won’t be able to have all our boats fish due to our team & region’s size.

Example:

May 18th = SATT Regional Day - Mississippi Pools 6&7

May 25th = Lund Virtual - Any Lake

June 11th = BASS - Prior Lake

June 18th = BASS - Waconia

July 13th = SATT - Mille Lacs

July 16th = BASS - TBD

July 27th = SATT - Mississippi Pools 4&5

August 31st = Lund Virtual - Any Lake

Champions Tour

Provides students with an awesome opportunity to spend time with a Minnesota Pro angler

Students will receive $50 in cash and a snack pack during the mid-tournament break

June 3: Lake Vermillion (Fortune Bay Casino Tower, MN)

July 1: Mississippi River, Pool 8 (Clinton Street, LaCrosse, WI)

August 5: Le Homme Dieu Chain (Arrowwood Resort, Alexandria, MN)

Championship Aug 26 at a location to be announced in June

Fundraisers & Team Sponsorship

    • Contact Drea Pelletier for sponsorship levels and additional details
    • Know someone who owns a business? Ask them if they’d like to be a sponsor!

  • Burger Bash with Prior Lake Hooksetters – Sat April 12th @ VFW 11-3pm
    • We will need team members to help with ticket sales and bussing tables!
