How do I Narrate?

  • Check out the slide deck in resources
  • Create an “on the rail” experience
    • Each scene has its own specific experience and narrative, leading to the conclusion of finding the three threads to weave back into the world loom.
      • If working within “Evan and the search for Champ,” your narrative would be leading towards finding whatever is swimming in lake Champlain.

Structure

  • Start with a beginning and an end (intro/end scene)
  • Figure out a natural progression story-wise though your intermediate scenes
  • Consistency in your story is key.
    • Try to keep the main character (and their backstory, abilities, etc.) the same throughout.
    • Keep the world-building consistent (settings, themes, style, etc.)
  • Keep the writing simple. Think “sophisticated caveman.”
