Words of Wisdom for Future COILers

Challenges will arise for you and your students: Personal and Professional growth emerge from the COIL experience.

Quote from a Student COIL Reflection:

    • “For students to have successful COIL experience, they should be open-minded on the cultural differences and be respectful as well. The members may have different perspectives and beliefs. Thus, students should approach interactions with curiosity and willingness to learn. In addition, students must manage their time effectively and commit to meeting deadlines and fulfilling responsibilities within the COIL project. Respect your peers’ time and contributions too.”

Wisdom of word for future COILers

  • Best practices – COILing with DkIT added a new dimension to my musical collaboration classes. Students were energized and eager to impress their Irish cowriters.
  • Why this was fruitful for me and my students – COIL provided the context for an authentic cross-border creative experience.

I*am the faculty lead for June 2024 pilot Study Abroad program at Dundalk Institute of Technology!
