Teacher’s Bank for Lesson Plans

Adult ELL Pathway to Literacy Program

Indianapolis, IN

The Adult ELL Pathway to Literacy is the collaborative effort of organizations and individuals supporting adult education in Indianapolis, under the direction of the Immigrant Welcome Center.

Using the Teacher’s Bank

  • This slide bank was created as an open educational resource to use with adult English language learners who have limited-literacy skills.
  • This teacher bank is meant to be used as a lesson guide for a 1.5-2 hour class.
  • For in-person classes, show the vocabulary & pictures via projector, then do the small group activities with printable items (see lesson plan).
  • For virtual classes, share screen and use Break-Out rooms for small groups. Use as much or as little of it as fits the time you have.
  • Comic Sans font is used in this slide bank because it closely resembles handwriting.
  • Feel free to edit or adapt to suit your student needs.
