Workshops are important

  • Deadline for application 1st August for immersion Program
  • https://www.opensourceecology.org/cnc-circuit-mill-workshop/
  • Iterative builds to improve parts and assembly procedure (D3D)
  • 15 min per axis (5 axis) = 75 minutes for skilled person to build and mount axis.
  • (Remote controlled?) Tractor for Tunesien project 2019 supported by Hamburg Helmut Schmidt University.

Scalability in 200 KW scale (?) by 1 KW Step

Michel from Hamburg, cos(h), OSE-Germany

  • Support by Hamburg Open Online University
  • cos(h) collective open source hardware
  • With Martin Jäger and OSE-Germany they built SolarBox
  • How to reproduce
  • Lead acid Batteries at MMPP
  • BMS Batteries Li-Iron-Phosphate (Li-Fe-PO4)
  • Join Many Boxes in a Network for scalability
  • Open Energy Monitor - Open Source Software
  • Made Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • Education. To learn to create PCB for students.
  • Martin Jäger found of Libre Solar Project
  • Michel found cos(h)
  • Try to rebuild.
  • Build a system.
  • Simplify?
  • Marcin suggest put more into software.
  • There a is simpler version in development
  • Telegram for communication https://telegram.org/
  • Build a nano-grid

Notes

Spencer:

  • Induction furnace research and design
  • Scalable vs efficiency
  • 1 kW to prove then modular design
  • Design: textbooks, subject matter experts - contact universities or companies, industry standards

Eric

  • KiCAD + FreeCAD
  • Models of individual parts (next step)
  • 3D-Model of CNC Circuit mill
  • Options for mounting arduinos
  • How to start project

Ruslan

Michel:

  • Nano-grid for scaling the only way to scale
  • Can you print
  • Buy in large numbers (partners)
  • One for Marcin
  • Redesign for circuit mill

Marcin:

  • Open source business

Spencer from Chicago

Notes

Ruslan

  • Prusa extruder
  • Where to upload large files (Git, OSE Germany)
  • How to deal with complex FreeCAD assemblies

https://wiki.opensourceecology.org/wiki/File_Simplification

  • D3D printer v18.06.12 - 30 cm (11.8 in) cubic printer area
  • Which documentation to follow, latest on facebook
  • Assembly procedure
  • Naming: use official machine name, for version use periods
  • Split documentation if it gets too big, use template spreadsheet to keep track of link locations

Questions

Questions and Answers

  • How to calculate components? (need to find it out)
  • PCBs in SolabrBox use Throughholes (VIAs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Via_(electronics). ) That is why we cannot use the circuit mill to make the PCB directly.
  • Flamingo for wiring? Some professionals do not do it, Marcin objects: we make instructions for non-professionals.

Ruslan

Started 3D Printer

https://wiki.opensourceecology.org/wiki/D3D_v18.06.12

Questions:

  • How strict are the naming rules? “D3D” or “3D Printer” “v18.06.12” or “v180612”?
  • Flat or hierarchical documentation.
  • Limit 2MB(?), cannot upload FreeCAD files. Use Git repo

Hint: Do not draw cables in FreeCAD files
