INTRODUCTION

  • The major and fundamental requirement of the hospitalized patients is that every patient should be provided with a better treatment and observation and should be supplied the correct amount of vital nutrition at the correct time.

Hence to prevent the patient from getting harmed and to protect their lives during IV drip feeding hours, the IoT based electrolyte level monitoring and automatic alert system has been developed

  • There are some critical situations, i.e., patient's blood re-flexing back into the saline tubing system due to the negligence towards the solution completion and busy schedules of the responsible doctors, nurses, or the care-takers, so a huge number of patients are dying or are being harmed in the hospitals.

WEBSITE AND APP

Since the old devices that have been previously developed gave manual notifications and did not do continuous monitoring of the electrolyte level in the bottle , In our device we developed a continuous monitoring system through website and app system that improves this drawback and give continuous reading of the data and also a notification when the drip level falls down below minimum value.

WEBSITE

Android APP

For the website we designed a webpage that shows first screen as a login page that contains username and password or the login page.

The Username and password will be unique to the doctors and nurse that are attending the patients.

The next screen shows different components like the drip level bed number of the patients bed.

The data that is displayed on the dashboard is the data from the arduino nano which takes readings from load sensor that is attached to the device.

When the level falls below the minimum threshold value ,

The notifications are send via email or via message or app notification on the app and the website to the doctors and the nurses.

Here is a prototype video

Off the dashboard where the website looks like this.

Technologies used for website dashboard

  1. SQL data server used to store data from arduino nano that takes the values of the drip levels
  2. HTML, CSS : used to develop the page and links and tabs
  3. Node.js used for functionality dynamic website and real time changes

While the device can also display manually the drip level but pur system with the integration of website and app notifications have made it easier for the doctors and nurses to monitor several beds without much human interference.

The data is stored and can be checked for abnormality purposes.

Hence our website and app deals with the information regarding the drip levels quite efficiently.
