What Hardware is Needed?

  • If you have VR in your district or machines for CTE/CADD/Photo Editing, you are set!
  • It really depends on the titles you are going to play
  • CPU – i5 – i9 Processor (Depending on Game)
  • GPU – GTX 1660TI or better to cover all titles
  • 8GB of RAM, but 16GB is recommended
  • 250GB to 500GB SSD or M.2 to store the games

What Human Power is Needed?

  • Team Members
  • A Coach
  • They don’t necessarily need to be a gamer, but they just need to be there to support the kids and keep the team organized at a minimum
  • A lot of these clubs can be run by students, but they still need a coach that they are responsible too for grade checks, enforcing school policies, coordinating the continuity of the organization, arranging matches, working with leagues, etc.

What is Needed?

  • You need a space for these machines where all of the students can practice together 6 to 12 machines is pretty common, but feel free to add more!

  • In schools this could be a computer lab, STEM Lab, CTE Lab, or some other space in your district that you have been trying to figure out how to use

  • Teams vary in size from 3 to 6, but 3 and 5 are the most common in high-school Esports and there is often a Varsity and JV team

  • League of Legends and Rocket League are very common at the High School level (Hearthstone, Overwatch, CS:GO, Fortnite, etc..)
