ADVOCACY - CONNECTING TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES

  • If you are faculty, include advocacy into your didactics, curriculum and scholarly products.
  • Administrators - Equip physicians to address workplace discrimination, deportation fears or asylum evaluations, increasing diversity in faculty/staff.
  • This will be team effort/”taskforce”
  • Connect with lawyers and advocacy groups which are vital for patients.
    • Medical professionals caring for undocumented patients should become familiar with community organizations and contact these partners for help. (AMA Journal of Ethics issue on Undocumented Immigrants)
