CHHS SCIENCE OLYMPIAD
Science Olympiad is a team competition in which students compete against other schools across multiple STEM
disciplines.
Every year, we take ~3 teams
(1 Varsity & 2 JV) to the Regional tournament
held at UNCG. Our Varsity team has advanced to
the State competition at NC State for multiple years
in a row due to their strong performance. Teams will be
selected based on event availability and competence in
respective events.

The Financial Literacy Club is a group of students who are committed to providing resources and time to practice and exhibit financial literacy. The Quill Writing Team
Hello! We are CHHS' team for the NCASA 'The Quill' Writing Competition! Teams of four students independently create written products given a prompt from a specific writing style, with one student writing per prompt in 90-minute on-demand writing sessions. This year's categories are Argumentation, Problem/Solution, Creative Writing, and Literary Analysis; both team and individual awards can be earned. Join our Varsity and JV teams as we participate in our 4th ever regional and state competitions this year!

We work with the greater Operation Smile Nonprofit to raise funds and awareness for cleft conditions, helping provide life changing safe surgeries. We also learn about different medical/STEM careers and participate in leadership/service projects with the Operation Smile organization.
Our goal for this year is to fund two “smiles” (surgeries), $480 in total, through fundraisers and service opportunities!
Our first meeting will be on Thursday, Oct. 9th in Mr.Tate’s room (A153)!
We are also looking to fill some leadership positions so stop by if you are interested!!
