Remaining Nonpartisan When Engaging Elected Officials During Election Season

Is the event itself nonpartisan?

What is the partisan balance of the press conference, rally, or other event/activity?

How close to an election is the event?

What factors are driving the timing of the event?

Is this event something the League does on a regular basis –e.g. monthly issue briefing, or annual Day at the Capital?

What are the risks of foregoing the event vs participating in the event?

Will the event stay focused on the issues and not the parties or elected officials that support or oppose them?
