STUDENT ID POLICY

Non-Compliance with the Student ID Policy:

  • Every 5 temporary IDs: $5 fine
  • Non-compliance #1-4 Warning
  • Continuous and flagrant violation of the ID policy constitutes

insubordination and will result in ISS

  • Intentionally attempting to use another student’s ID = ISS

A lost ID, lanyard, or plastic sleeve may be replaced in the ACMS Library AT COST.  

  • All Arbor Creek Middle School students are required to wear a student ID with lanyard around their neck at ALL times.
  • An ACMS ID or temporary ID must be visible at ALL times. It must be on the front and outside of your shirt/jacket (NOT on your leg, behind your back, etc.) Students not wearing a valid or temporary ID will not be allowed to leave the classroom for any reason- restroom, library, working in the hall, etc.
  • Campus-Wide ID(Dress Code) checks at the beginning of FIRST period as part of attendance process.
    • Student non-compliance will be noted on the ID/Dress Code Monitoring system and sent to the office
  • Students addressed in the hallway for failure to visibly wear ID will:
    • STOP AND FACE THE STAFF MEMBER
    • POLITELY ACKNOWLEDGE THE STAFF MEMBER
    • POLITELY COMPLY WITH REQUEST
      • Failure will result in an office referral

ON TIME:

  • Highest Grade possible = 100% in the Gradebook

ONE DAY LATE:

  • Highest Grade possible – 85% in the Gradebook

TWO DAYS LATE:

  • Highest Grade possible – 70% in the Gradebook

THREE TO FIVE DAYS LATE:

  • Highest Grade possible – 50% in the Gradebook

AFTER FIVE DAYS LATE: STUDENT IS assigned a 0% in the gradebook.

IF STUDENTS HAVE 0s, AND ARE FAILING, students will not be allowed to participate in incentive events and privileges during Eagle Time, and non-UIL school trips.

  • First Offense - Warning AND confiscation & return to student at end of the day

  • Second Offense - Lunch detention AND confiscation and parent pickup of device

  • Third Offense - 2 lunch detentions AND confiscation and parent pickup of device required AND parent conference

  • Fourth Offense - ISS AND confiscation AND parent pick up of device

Therefore:

  • Cell phones must be put away in backpacks from 8:15-4:10.
  • District issued iPads may be used during the school day.
  • Headphones can be used in the classroom with teacher permission. Bluetooth headphones may only connect to district issued iPads.

Failure to adhere to the technology policy will result in the following consequences:

Technology Policy

LISD has implemented a no cell phone policy for middle school students.

Students who have a district issued device are expected to arrive to school each day with it fully charged.

Bus Policy

Safe travel to and from school is vital. You must do your part and comply with the expectations set forth in the bus contract. If you break one or multiple provisions of the School Bus Contract, you will receive a bus referral.

Non Compliance with the Student Bus Contract:

1st Offense:……….. Warning and a call home

2nd Offense:……….. 5 Day Bus Suspension and call home

3rd Offense:……….. 10 Day Bus Suspension with call home

4th Offense:……….. 30 Day Bus Suspension with call home

5th Offense:……….. Bus Suspension for remainder of the year

Significant single violations will result in removal at administrative discretion.

Safety on board the school bus is non-negotiable.

Breakfast:

  • Wear student ID to obtain breakfast from the cafeteria line.
  • Sit at a designated breakfast table.
  • Throw away all trash and clean their mess.

Lunch:

  • Walk in and sit at a table.
  • Wait until their table is dismissed
  • No cell phones, district issued iPads, or earbuds/headphones may be used.
  • With ID and when dismissed by staff, obtain lunch from the cafeteria line.
  • Remain in the lunchroom until the end of lunch.
  • At the end of lunch stay seated and wait to be dismissed.
  • Throw away all trash and clean their mess.
  • Assigned Cleaning crew will remain in the lunch room until dismissed by duty staff.

Breakfast/Lunch Policy

Students not wearing an official ACMS/TEMP ID may not enter the cafeteria line.

LEAVE NO TRACE

Failure to follow expectations above will result in lunch detention OR ISS OR time spent cleaning the cafeteria and any combination depending on the severity of the action the student took.

Students are late if they are not in the classroom once the tardy bell rings. Send the student to the Tardy Kiosk for a pass.

Consequences:

  • Tardy #1-2 Student goes to Tardy Kiosk- Warning
  • Tardy #3-5: Student goes to Tardy Kiosk- Campus Detention
  • Tardy #6 +: Student goes to Tardy Kiosk- ISS Placement

Policy counts reset at 9 weeks.

Tardy Policy

Upon returning to class, give your tardy pass to your teacher.

If caught reusing or reproducing a pass, student is automatically assigned ISS.

During passing period, students should be mindful of their time. Do not ask your teacher’s permission to be late, so you can make another lap for water or restroom. Monitor your own time and take care of your business BEFORE coming to class.
