Example:

Bears are strong.

Sloths move slow.

Narwhals are awesome because they have a big tooth in front of their face.

Bright Spots

2022 - 2023

Teachers used these habits of mind to design activities to connect STEAM with Literacy

Owl Tear Art. After reading Owl Babies, we combined fine motor skills with our thinking about the body parts of an owl.

We engineered owl nests. Students had a lot of fun taking their noticings about nests and applying them to their engineering.

We read about owls and nests and used nature left over from shadow boxes and made owl nests.
