Welcome to your child’s classroom. I appreciate all of you taking the time out to come meet me. Here are some things that you may want to know about who is teaching your child.

This is my 20th year at Loudenslager. I graduated from Rowan University and have taught both fifth and sixth grade. I have three children of my own. I will be teaching your child Math, Social Studies and Science.
How will your child be spending their day?
School starts at 8:05AM. They come into the classroom, unpack, eat breakfast and begin a morning do now.
8:20- 9:04 (1st period) Social Studies and Science
9:08-9:53 (2nd period) RTI- we will work on basic skills in both ELA and Math
9:57-11:31 (3rd period) Specials- Hoffman homeroom, ELA- Howard homeroom
11:35-12:20 (4th and 5th periods)Math- Hoffman homeroom, ELA- Howard homeroom
12:24-1:09(6th period) Recess and Lunch
1:13-2:47(7th and 8th period) Math- Howard homeroom, ELA- Hoffman homeroom
What will my child be learning this school year?
Mathematics- Numeration, Evaluating Expressions, Operations of Decimals and Fractions, Geometry, Data and Probability, Integers, Ratios and Proportions
Physical Science- Interactions of Matter and Energy and Motion, Work and Machines
Social Studies- Modern World History: Civilizations of the Americas and the Revolutionary Era,
Black History Month
How will my child be graded this year?
Math-Homework 25%
Classwork 25%
Tests/Quizzes…50%
Homework will be given Monday through Thursday. It will not be graded, we will go over the assignments in class and your child will earn points towards an overall weekly homework grade.
Math Series- Savvas Realize
Each student can connect to this site through their Google Classroom. This site is used in class and can also be used at home. I allow plenty of time for students to complete Practice Buddies. If they do not complete Practice Buddies in school, they must work on them at home. I will also be giving daily review assignments that the students need to complete at home.
