Every day, we are committed to ensuring that our students have the opportunity to grow and thrive so they can reach their potential. ��To do this, we need a plan in place to ensure every teacher is prepared to provide every student what they need to be successful.

Title I

What is Title I?�It is a Federal Program for which schools will receive supplemental funds to assist in meeting the educational needs and goals of students.��How did my school qualify for Title I?�In order to qualify for Title I, a school’s population is 40% or more of students living in poverty, regardless of the school configuration.��Title I Requirements�Create a Title I Committee which consists of the School Leadership Team, Community Stakeholders, and Parents. The Committee will conduct a comprehensive needs assessment, analyze the data, and formulate a school wide improvement plan addressing the areas of concern.

The key components of our plan that will lead to school improvement include:

  • High quality curriculum and assessments in all grades
  • High quality professional development for all teachers on the selected curriculum
  • A teacher preparation partner to address our schools’ greatest workforce needs
  • Building school-based expertise through leadership roles
  • A Professional Development Plan to ensure teachers are preparing for units and building content knowledge
  • A focus on strengthening students’ vocabulary knowledge
  • A focus on building students’ mathematical fluency
  • Response to Intervention for both math and reading deficits

School Improvement Overview

Given the data we’ve shared, Mary Goff is focused on the following priorities for the 2024-2025 school year:

​

  • K-2 ELA will increase proficiency from 80%-90%.
  • K-2 math will increase proficiency from 53% to 63%.
  • 3-6 ELA will increase proficiency from 59.8% to 69.8%.
  • 3-6 math will increase proficiency from 54% to 64%.
  • 3-6 science will increase proficiency from 42% to 52%.
  • 3-6 SS will increase proficiency from 50.3% to 60.3%.

School Improvement Plan Strategies

How will we reach the goals outlined in our plan?

  • Teachers participate in meaningful TCMs (Teacher Collaboration Meetings) weekly to discuss instructional strategies, student progress, and upcoming curriculum objectives, along with analyzing student data and work samples.
  • All teachers - including special education, English language, and reading interventionists - prepare for and deliver instruction using high-quality materials.
  • Students will be provided with materials aligned to the state standards in the core content areas. These materials are aligned to Tier I curriculum implementation at the school, specifically Imagine Learning, Guidebooks, Bayou Bridges, Amplify, and Ready.
  • Teachers will implement highly effective vocabulary strategies (including Flocabulary) during instruction, across all content areas.
  • Keyboarding without Tears will be utilized with 3rd/4th to prepare students with keyboarding skills necessary for LEAP.

School Improvement Plan Strategies

How will we reach the goals outlined in our plan?

  • Social Studies teachers will utilize NearPod with the social studies curriculum to engage students in interactive lessons, videos, and activities that align with Bayou Bridges curriculum.
  • Math teachers will implement and monitor math fluency progress monitoring. (K-6)
  • K-3 ELA teachers will implement and monitor reading fluency progress monitoring.
  • All students in K-6 will complete nightly reading logs with a parent/guardian.
  • Intentional planning and implementation of RTI (Response to Intervention) and HDT (High Dosage Tutoring).
  • We will offer after school tutoring during the spring semester to provide support for 3rd-6th graders taking the LEAP assessment (remediation/enrichment based on student needs).
  • Parents will be notified of events through flyers, ClassDojo, social media, and other communication apps.

We are committed to providing families with meaningful, two-way communication about Mary Goff’s plan and your child’s academic progress throughout the year.

Here are ways we can partner to meet our plan’s goals:

  • Communicate with us: Contact your child’s teacher or principal with questions about your child’s progress, learning needs, or school events/programs through teacher website, school media accounts, etc.
  • Support learning at home: Parent involvement takes many forms. Whether it’s checking homework, attending Open House or volunteering, your engagement makes a difference.

​

By knowing what’s happening in the classroom and on campus, you can help your student to focus on coursework and school activities in order to expand general knowledge and develop specific skills.
