Description holders

We will no longer have tape available at tent 3, instead we have description holders for sale at cost.

You are in charge of maintaining fairness among your team. Please sign the new Coaches Safety and Fairness Agreement

Help out the registrar

  • Earlier is better! 400+ students from 65+ schools is a lot to manage
  • Get your team waivers in ASAP (athletes and coaches)
  • Athletes pay meet-to-meet fees by Sunday before the meet
  • Coaches submit attendance by Monday at 5pm
  • Problem comes up? Communicate early so we can help solve it! We want everyone to race

Ethics in Orienteering

  • Orienteers shall respect the land and wilderness
  • Orienteers shall stop and aid any injured athletes

  • Orienteers shall NOT:
    • follow others
    • discuss the course with others during the race
    • damage, hide, or remove any controls
    • point out control locations to others
    • discuss the course, terrain or map with athletes waiting to start

Carry a whistle

Always punch the start and always download whether you finish or not

Do not enter areas marked out-of-bounds

Use mandatory crossings when present

Observe traffic rules

Wear appropriate clothing and gear for the weather

Seven runners every two minutes from 9:44 am – 12:30 pm. Course closure at 2:30 pm.

Assigned start times for WIOL athletes. Public runners will choose their own on the COC website.

OUSA Patch Program

  • A great way to recognize your athletes’ effort and progress in orienteering
  • Levels 1-3 awarded based on coaches’ judgement
  • Level 4 based on higher scrutiny
  • Use Resources as coaching and ability guide
  • Ensure each athlete completes the knowledge, skills, and milestones associated with each level.
  • Send me a list of athletes and their level completed by February
  • Patches will be awarded at Champs (Feb 28th 2026)
