Motivation for Project

  1. For teaching data science courses, commercial software is expensive and difficult to use for the classroom setting→(complex, uninformative and sterile 🤔🤪🤒🤢🥵)
  2. Missing is an inspiring and informative GUI that supports explaining the working and the results of applying data science methods (that would be great to have 🤩🤓😅😁😃)
  3. So, let me come straight to the point if you want to be a programmer of the lost ark/a partner in code:

  • Are you interested in programming and OOP in particular?
  • Are you interested in statistics and data science?
  • Do you want to leave a mark behind after graduating from RPI?

Some ideas/possible tasks

  • Making standard methods execute very fast, e.g.�by multithreading/possibly GPU use
  • Explore possibility of utilizing platform �independent GUI (e.g. Java) and standard C/C++�for implementing methods
  • Or stick to MFC (Windows class) for designing a�computational engine and a GUI
