Strip Aerial of Old Grease

  • Strip dirt and grease from friction points
  • After removing old grease, clean aerial with soap and water
  • Use putty knifes and red rags with belly soap for any hard to clean sections
  • Make sure to get top, side, and bottom rails
  • Pressure washer may used once all grease has been removed but should not be used to “degrease” the aerial

Reapplying Grease

  • Use manufacturer recommended grease and lightly coat all 3 friction points “top, bottom, and side rails”
  • Only apply grease to silver painted areas
  • Any HP grease is acceptable for zerk fittings

  • After reapplying grease fully extend and retract the aerial several times at different elevations

  • Remove any excess grease when done

Cables

  • Hold a rag behind the cable as you spray to reduce overspray
  • ”ONLY” use “LPS” chain and bar spray

KME Sheave Lubrication

  • A small amount of Aerokroil can be sprayed into the sheave.
  • Only a small amount is required, or it will run everywhere

Zerk Fittings

  • Any HP grease is acceptable
  • Use a red rag to clean zerk fitting before attaching and adding new grease
  • Pump in grease until some extrudes from the fitting, stop and wipe off the excess
