After gathering our data we set out to create visually pleasing, easy- to -read graphic representations that data.
First we looked at the responses we had gotten to our student survey and creating bar graphs representing this population in major, year, age, and lecture attendance.
We also noted problems with technology as seen through the eyes of these students.
These problems included issues with projector, audio, microphone, and connectors. In total we received responses on 13 different technology-related issues.
Next, we transcribed our audio interviews with professors and constructed our Affinity Diagram from these transcripts and corresponding notes. We then rounded out the Affinity Diagram with information gleaned from our student graphs.
Our Affinity Diagram used a total of 20 different themes ranging from furniture arrangement and spacing to iClicker issues to problems with the projector.

made several sketches for ways to make several types of adapters available for professors

included storage, security, methods to prevent professor leaving with adapters
went back to observation data: looking at several podiums/lecture halls found that most adapters were actually avaible
just not in all the lecture halls --> didn't really need a design solution just have it widely available

touchscreen → manual

we thought a touchscreen interface would be a good way for the professor to interact with the boards
we wanted more board space so we chose three boards on each side which can cover the projector so that people who don’t use projection can use the full board’s capacity

-First round of prototyping; we came up with a few different ideas to narrow down.

-We decided to develop an interface to be added to the touchscreen, since it was one of the things professors claimed to like.

We used an online UI application to model our interface.

- This interface went through two iterations: one extremely basic, involving two moving boards that slid up and down, and a more in-depth one which included several different screens linked to each other and which included a third sliding board that could slide horizontally with the screens linking by buttons.

ditched tablet bc unnecessary and also relied on wifi which we wanted to avoid in the first place
instead of docking stationary comp to a wall, have it central to the lecture hall in place of current podiums

added HDMI to allow for easy exchange between laptops during one lecture, also gives option for profs who like lugging around laptop all day (not popular consensus however)

added media player + audio player (VLC player: one of the best free media players - open source, cross-platform media player)

chose this software because most comprehensive player (in terms of codec files), most compatible in terms of mp3, mp4
