One hypothesis derives the name from the Greek Prokeitai meaning «lie» in consideration of how the island appares, seen from the sea.

The legend of the Corricella explains why the houses are colored: the fishermen to recognize their houses from afar have decided to make them very evident colors.�To date, the corricella is the most visited place in Procida.

Graziella is the Procidan woman par excellence, and obviously the most beautiful. The character was born in the novel of the same name by the French writer de Lamartine. there is a party dedicated precisely to Grazziella where the most beautiful is elected

The logo of Procida's candidacy as Italian Capital of Culture 2021 wants to express in the first place movement, the continuous flow of the relationship between the island and its geographical, historical and cultural "archipelago", of the uninterrupted relationship between lives, experiences, arts, contents and users.

An ancient sign, simple and complex at the same time, which in the forms expresses the continuous process of exchange and contamination, at the base of any evolution and progress.
