Hello! I’m Mr. Foxhill and I teach 8th grade mathematics. This will be my fourth year teaching, and my third year at MaST. I am looking forward to an amazing year!

Some of the topics that we will be learning in class this school year are: Linear Equations, Solving Systems, Rational/Irrational Numbers, Properties of Exponents, Square/Cube Roots, Scientific Notation,Pythagorean theorem, and Inequalities and Polynomials

Grading Policy

Classwork is 40%

Homework is 5%

Quizzes are 15%

Tests/Projects are 40%

Homework

Students will be given homework 2 - 3 times a week. Homework assignments will consist of IXL lessons, worksheets, and assignments that get posted on google classroom. Students will be given some time in class to start/ complete the homework that is being assigned. Sometimes the teacher will assign Study Island lessons for the students to complete within a week for full credit.

Missing work can still be turned in a week late for full credit. Any work turned in after may be deducted up to 10% per week it is missing. Students who hand in missing work of assignments that have already been graded must show or tell the teacher that the assignment was completed. Teachers are able to use their discretion based on different situations that might occur.
