What is NFT?

The easiest way to think of Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs) is as digital assets on a blockchain that are unique.

This includes things like digital art, sports cards, games, music, videos, and more (it's likely the best NFTs have yet to be invented!) No two NFTs are the same, and their ownership is immutable and publicly visible.

NFTs are cryptographic tokens that derive their value from being created and transferred on the blockchain.

The key difference between NFTs and other tokens (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Sushi, etc.) are that they are non-fungible, which means unlike a one dollar bill or one Bitcoin, no two NFTs are the same or interchangeable.

Each NFT has identifying information that makes it unique and easily verifiable.

About CryptoMoth

CryptoMoth is a NTF Art project that involves various artists and programmers. Using the imagery of moths inside glass bottles, we asked ourselves: how happy would a moth be surrounded by the many neon lamps of a cyberpunk era?

With this theme in mind, we created pixel-art assets, representing many types of moth: some fantastic, others based in the real ones of the world. Those assets will generate random and unique moths.

There will be a total of 10,000 uniquely generated CryptoMoths derived from a block number in the Ethereum Blockchain as ERC-721 tokens, not a single one will be the same. Acquiring one will also grant ownership of the NFT art, and a possibility of business with interested buyers in the OpenSea NFT Market.

The CryptoMoth Project not only offers an opportunity to buy a cool NFT Art, but we also added some new experiences during the purchase of the NFT, also some mystery and gamification surrounding the moth catching.

How the pricing works?

The price may vary between 1 ETH and 0.01 ETH, and the variation is according to the moth’s lifespan. Each of the moths live for 1h and 8 minutes, the newborn moths will cost 1 ETH, and the price will lower as they age, costing 0.01 ETH in the late minute of the moth's life. For every block a moth is alive, it gets discounted by 0.0033 ETH from the starting price.

In short, the game is about finding the right time to buy: buying fast with higher prices and keeping the rarer moths for you, or waiting for the moths to age and paying less, but risking losing the moth for another hunter.

How can I get one?

The mechanics surrounding the moth hunting are very simple: It begins inside an image of a room with a lava lamp in the middle. This lamp will be lit when the catch time begins, and a countdown timer will show the time left to choose and mint your moth. All you need to do is click multiple times on the lit lava lamp until all the moths surrounding it are gone.

Every click will grant 6 different moths that will show up on the bottom of the animated image, and all the moths in there are the only possibilities of that block of 300.

You must be fast to pick and choose, or other hunters may claim the moth before you. And be careful, when the lights turn off, they will never return again. Don't let go of a good one!

When can I catch mine?

You have a limited time throughout the day to capture and mint a moth. They can only be claimed during the light's up time, which will happen every six hours for two hours (EST Time) and progressively diminished. This event will happen until all the 10,000 moths are taken. The catch time will be represented by a sort of new details in the animated image in the center of the site, which will include a lit bright-green lava lamp.

When the light time runs out, the block is destroyed and a new block will be born after 6 hours, with another pack of randomly generated moths.

Moth ATTRIBUTES

There are 14 attributes in total, of which 8 are the minimum, with a total of 217 unique features, allowing more than 14,000,000,000,000,000 possible moths to be generated. Besides the randomly generated moths, there are 33 unique moths that are one-of-a-kind.

The basic CryptoMoth has Wings, Antenna, Body, Head, Butt, and they are inside a Glass Jar with a Lid and a Background. But you can also find rarer ones with special wing accessories (Tattoo Up and Tattoo Down), inside special jars with different Terrains, Top Accessories, Bottom Objects and an even rarer Glow surrounding them.

Who’s gonna be the lucky one to have a special moth with all of the 14 attributes? Or a unique moth? Or even a full-set one?
