  1. We just asked them to Install but 3 girls already explored by themselves and made short videos too. So it was accepted very well.
  2. When we tried to explain multiple features on same day then girl's said not to introduce more features, we will forget it. It gave us important feedback.
  3. Girls came up with queries to learn more about inshot
  4. They have made many good videos with relevant photos, audios and bits of interview.

  1. We asked girls to join the meeting from laptop, they were not as comfortable to use laptops.
  2. Following many instructions for installation was hard for girls.
  3. They were happy when they saw files appearing directly in the internal storage of their mobile but navigating in internal storage wasn’t easy for them.
  4. With time they are going good with it

To push girls towards different mediums of learning. And be comfortable with using laptops (and Pi).

  1. Girls were still not very comfortable with navigating laptop and folder structures.
  2. Connecting hotspot to laptop and debugging errors was little frustrating for girls
  3. Whoever installed it successfully, they were excited to go through the content on kolibri
  4. Later on, we can also lead them to make their own content in their own context.

To push girls towards storytelling and introducing their life to anyone. The prompts were related to their lifestyle, festivals, near-by places, cultural stories, temples and their work. Find some videos here.

  1. Girls commented on how they’ll now be able to think and talk about their village to outsiders.
  2. Interesting for girls to interact with each other and see commonalities and differences amongst them.
  3. Girls also said after making videos they can upload and then search it on internet.

  2. The girls arrived at deep questions around the topic like how do you educate blind? These can in turn serve as starting inquiries.

  2. They also reflected on how to handle difference of opinions and the importance of not reacting immediately.

Jingles

Since the girls enjoy the starting jingle so much, we introduced them to audio editing (Super Sound) and they could make their own jingles. Also, another ways to claim the device as their own.

Phase 2

  • Girls had really strong opinions about their dreams and what they could do.
  • They were able to use previous frameworks to work out the nitigrities.
  • They accepted Canva very well and explored many different aspects of it like making wedding cards, logos.
  • The challenges with the internet and attending classes in group.
