How is our Class is set up?

  • All classwork/homework is posted to Google Classroom
  • Most assignments are completed in class with extra time given as homework if more time is needed
  • We learn a new topic most days so attendance is important!

What is the grade break down?

25% Classwork and Homework

  • Check Google Classroom for Homework assignments
  • Most of the classwork assignments are designed to be completed in class in groups

75% Assessments�

  • Quizzes are typically given Fridays every week
  • There is a unit assessment each grading period

How is the semester grade calculated?

There are three grading periods.

GP1 ends 9/22 GP2 ends 11/3 GP3 ends 12/15

Each grading period is worth 25% with the final exam also worth 25%.

Graduation Requirements

Minimum:

3 Years of Math

30 units

must include:

  • Alg 1, Geo, Alg 2 or Comp
  • OR
  • Geo, Alg 2, Stats/Precalc

Recommended:

4 Years of Math

40 units

  • for UCs, CSUs, many 4 Year colleges and any future STEM majors

Current Freshmen:

  • After Algebra you will take Geometry.
    • If you passed both semesters of Algebra 1 with an A or B you may sign-up for the optional summer district geometry class.
    • If you have failed either semester of Algebra 1:
      • you must repeat Algebra 1 during either night school or summer school
      • OR during your junior year you must pass Algebra 2 and a 4th year of math your senior year
