Request Letters of Recommendation Early-Give your recommenders plenty of time (at LEAST 3 weeks) and provide them with a letter of recommendation packet.
Check Email and College Portals Regularly-Universities send important updates and reminders via personal email (not TUSD email) or college portalKnow Your Testing Policies-Check whether schools are test-optional and if they require SAT/ACT scores.

🚫 Parents: What NOT to Do During the College Application Process
❌ DON’T:
🎓 Senior Year Attendance Matters!
Colleges don’t see official senior year grades during fall applications, but most request: Mid-Year Reports (after 1st semester) Final Transcripts (end of year)Why does it matter? Colleges want to confirm that your senior year reflects the student they admitted Yes — they can rescind an acceptance
⚠️ Last year had the most “close calls” ever! Not due to poor performance, but because of too many absences
