Engaging with Waymo

The I-10 Broadway Curve Project impacted roadways within Waymo’s Phoenix and Tempe Service areas.

Established monthly coordination calls to discuss upcoming closures/shifts and to identify segments of the project as they were opened to their final configuration.

Waymo outreach and technical staff wanted to understand timeline for improvements to come online – vehicles needed to be re-trained.

Monitoring of Adaptive Operations

The City of Tempe implemented an Adaptive Corridor on Baseline Road to accommodate traffic during construction
Early in the project communication in the Baseline Corridor was not reliable.
Iteris staff established congestion alerts for the Baseline Corridor to identify if the travel time through the corridor moderately, or significantly.
