Lego Mindstorms

This STEM learning course helps students not only on engineering but also on future science studies. It is a higher level course for those who had LEGO WeDo course experience. It uses LEGO Mindstorms set as a tool for teaching endless concepts and a source of engineering challenge for our students.

Course covers:

  • Science – Over thirty real world projects to lead students to learn various kinds of knowledge and get into problem solving path.
  • Math – Many concepts and principles are applied to the robot building when it comes to programming it. Distance and turning circle are the most common among calculations.
  • Engineering – To build a robot and learn robotics and mechanics.
  • Physics – Along with efficiency, learn to design and make a stable structure.
  • Programming – Lots of fun when you start to create and control your apps.

William Wu used the knowledge he learned from Lego EV3 class (by Mr. Xu) and built an automatic hand sanitizer dispenser. It uses an ultrasonic sensor to detect hand presence and squeezes out hand sanitizer from the bottle.
