Introduction: I Plog Interest Badges

The I Plog interest badge programme consists of 2 levels (Level 1 and 2) and was officially launched at GGS International Camp 2022.

Guiders can conduct the badge programme in their Units or the girls can do it at their own time.

The two badges are progressive; girls need to complete Level 1 before starting on Level 2.

From 2023, there will be a streamlinining of process:

Badge requirements

  • To obtain the badge, girls will have to (i) plog, (ii) write a reflection to their Guider and (iii) share at the Unit level.

Badge Submission & Collection

  • Guiders to submit via Google Form the following:
    • A group short description of the plogging experience (where, when, who attended)
    • One group reflection (what they see, think and wonder)
    • One group photo
    • State the no. of badges to collect
  • HQ Staff will notify once the badges are ready for collection.
  • Guiders to award badge on GuidingLIGHT for girls.

GGS I Plog Level 2 Badge Requirements (Revised 2023)

Badge requirements

  1. Attained iPlog Level 1 badge
  2. Organise and facilitate a plogathon with at least 4 participants.
    1. The participants can be GGS members, schoolmates, classmates, friends or family members.
  3. Share with the participants on any 1 of the topics below:
    • climate change
    • Impact of littering
    • plastic waste
    • 5Rs
    • any other related topics
  4. Submit to their Guider the following:
    • 1 photo of the event and description of the event (e.g. where, when, who attended)

  1. When is this badge programme available?
    • It was officially launched during GGS International Camp 2022.
  2. Can I use the plogathon during the International Camp/WTD 2023 to claim for the interest badges?
    • Yes, you may do so once your girls have complete the badge clauses!
  3. Do I need to pay for the iPlog badges?
    • No, the badges are available for free
  4. Can my girls sew this badge on their Uniforms?
    • Yes, as this is an interest badge, they can sew it on their Uniform’s Left Sleeve.

5. Do I need to submit a badge report when I request for the badges?

    • No, you do not need to submit a badge report. We will use the google form to retrieve the relevant
    • However, you will still need to award the badges to the girls on GuidingLIGHT.
    • This is mainly for PNAA verification and auditing purposes.

6. When is this badge programme valid until?

    • It is valid until all stock of the badges run out.

7. Is this badge prgoramme open to all GGS Members?

    • Yes it is.
