Arrival/Departure and Watch Cats

    • Volunteers (parents, grandparents, community members) who attend to crosswalk safety, facilitate loading & unloading of children at arrival and dismissal, and perform building checks after student arrival - Safety is our #1 priority!

    • Don’t worry! We have it covered. You don’t need to do anything. We’ll keep your kids in the office until you arrive

Homework Policy

  • Grades Pre-K - 2
    • Nightly reading.
    • No regular homework! Additional activities available upon request for children who may benefit. Make-up work will be given for absences.
  • Grades 3 - 5
    • Nightly reading.
    • Special projects, consistent homework.
    • Make-up work given for absences.

Food Services

  • Free breakfast and lunch for all students preschool - 5th grade
    • Breakfast ~ students must arrive by 7:25 to receive breakfast
    • Hot lunch served for all grades in the cafeteria
    • View menus, add money, and restrict snacks via the School Cafe link
  • Meal Benefits Application
    • Based on family income level - apply at School Cafe
    • For qualifying families, this program waives all school fees and field trip costs
  • A La Carte (Snack Cart)
    • These items are available for purchase.
    • Add money through School Cafe online or Cash or Check to Cafeteria Manager
    • You can restrict which items and how many items your child may purchase
  • Cold Lunch
    • Parents send lunch with children, lunch boxes are taken to the cafeteria.

Attendance

  • Tardy policy starting in September.
  • Please be sure to call the office and leave a message about your child’s absence.
  • Jeffco policy requires that we follow up regarding student absences
  • If possible, please avoid having your child miss more than 10 days of school.
    • Attendance rates above 95% starting in kindergarten are predictive of graduation rates and postsecondary student success.

Snow Days

  • They are RARE
    • Call will go out between 5am and 6am
  • Late Starts are more common
    • 2 hour delayed start time
    • Dismissal remains the same
  • On snowy, cold days please send your child with the following clothing:
    • Waterproof gloves
    • Snow coat & pants
    • Hat or hood
    • Snow boots

We go outside if it “feels like” 17 degrees or above.

Please label all items with your child’s name!

Birthday Treat Policy

  • No food for birthdays
    • Jeffco School District Policy
    • Due to food allergies and the district’s health and wellness initiative
  • Other birthday celebration ideas:
    • Inexpensive small toys, temporary tattoos, fun erasers, stickers, etc.
    • A special art project.
    • Donate a book to the library
    • Ask teacher if student can be a leader for the day or read a book to the classroom
