What is Safari Montage?

  • streamline activities and assignments for students
  • paid for through 2023 by the SCDE.
  • aligned with South Carolina College and Career Ready Standards.
  • Use school district password to gain access to the LOR.

South Carolina Instructional HUB

  • acts as a digital library of educational content.
  • develop lesson plans and find compelling content

LOR (Learning Object Repository) is a term used to describe Safari Montage and other digital library collections.

Safari Montage...

  • Is a library of vetted materials that align with state standards
  • Is accessible for all teachers
  • Is resources teachers can use during lessons
  • Is not like Pinterest or Teachers Pay Teachers
  • Is not accessible for students
  • Is not pre generated modules or lessons

Getting Started with Safari Montage

How do I login to my account?

Logging in is as easy as signing into Classlink and clicking the Safari Montage Icon.

To change your preferences click on your name or Click the preferences Tab and edit your information.

Dashboard

From your dashboard you can:

  • Search for content
  • Play recently viewed content
  • Create and use playlists
  • View Training and tutorials

Searching for content

Keyword Search

  1. Type in your keyword
  2. Select a grade range (may want to include multiple grades)
  3. By clicking Filters you can add more information

  1. Click the subject
  2. Select a topic
  3. Filter further by choosing grade ranges

  • Choose Standards Set
  • Choose Content Area
  • Select Grade Range

  • Click Playlists
  • Search in all playlists or by specific playlist
  • You can also search school and district playlists
  • Type in your keyword and grade range.

Creating and Using Playlists

Creating a Playlist

From the Dashboard:

  • Click New Playlist
  • Title the Playlist
  • Complete the applicable fields (grade range, description, etc.)
  • Save the playlist

Once you have saved the playlist, you can now click edit and go back in to decide who you are going to share that playlist with (school, district)

From A Learning Object:

  • Click search to find your object
  • Click Playlist under actions
  • Enter New playlist title
  • Click add here
  • You can then go back into your new playlist to change playlist information

Adding Content to a playlist

Click on and open your playlist.

  • Click Add a resource to My Playlist
  • Choose resources to add
  • Click add to Playlist
  • Select the playlist to add your content
  • Click Add Here

Sharing a playlist

Click on and open your playlist.

  • You can share with the link or QR code.
  • Click on either icon and share the playlist in your LMS.
  • Student View in Google Classroom

At this time we do not have access to upload content to Safari Montage.

Sharing playlists is also limited at this time.

From the Dashboard, Click on Using SAFARI Montage

This is the 2 Hour training course on the basics of Safari Montage.

This short course shows you how Google for Education can integrate with Safari Montage.

Tutorials allow you to view short videos about targeted skills such as creating a playlist and adding playing media.
