Case Study:

Process Engineering & Lead Time Reduction for Product Development

(PT Balagi Rattan – Export Furniture Manufacture)

In an export-driven manufacturing environment, the R&D department faced frequent delays in developing product samples requested by global buyers. Several complaints was received, stated that the sample lead time was significantly longer than competitors. After thorough investigation, I realized that the root cause was a complete lack of a structured scheduling and tracking mechanism, leading to operational bottlenecks and uncoordinated workloads.

I took the initiative to radically transform the sample development pipeline. Drawing from my rigorous background in high-level manufacturing planning frameworks at Adidas footwear manufacturer, my objective was to design, introduce, and execute an adaptable scheduling and monitoring system:

  • Engineered a Tailored Scheduling Framework
  • Established Executive Visibility
  • Introduced Agile Priority Alignment

  • Significantly boosted the OTIF (On-Time In-Full) rate for sample production, establishing a reliable and predictable delivery pipeline.
  • Drastically reduced buyer complaints regarding long lead times, effectively elevating the company's competitive edge and securing stronger relationships with international buyers.
