Ability to finish high school at West Valley Community College

  • Have completed at least 110 semester units with no make-ups required.
  • Have a 2.8 Total weighted G.P.A. or higher
  • Submit two (2) completed recommendation forms from a high school teacher and one from an Advisor/Counselor;
  • Complete a two (2) page application essay;
  • Show past corrected work from one essay/assignment
  • Attend a parent/student informational meeting;
  • Complete a Parent/Student Contract;
  • Participate in the interview process;
  • Submit a completed registration packet with all required materials including - concurrent enrollment form, WVC admission form and high school transcript

  • Complete a 500 word application essay “Why I Want to Spend My Senior Year at West Valley College”;
  • Complete a College Advantage application by the due date;
  • Completion of West Valley English Placement Exam showing eligibility for English Writing 1A (ERWT 1A);
  • A school record of responsible, mature, self-directed behavior;

Courses must be selected by the following dates and are using grade in 18/19:

Student selections due: 2/7/18 for Sophomores, 1/30/18 for Juniors

Please select your courses carefully as there will be no teacher or course changes in the fall

You will have an opportunity to make course changes in March

On a note of concern: Cheating is a campus-wide issue. Please reiterate what constitutes cheating and that while cheating may get the grade it short-changes the learning.
