I want to propose an SDN-based IoT security architecture. In such an architecture, we could have IoT network as perception layer, the IDS or firewall devices deployed at the infrastructure layer, security service and modified controller deployed at the control layer and security applications in the application layer. With such an architecture, we want the IoT network to have the abilities like having the centralized authentication system for heterogeneous IoT network against the Mirai-like attack. Even more, we might be able to divide the IoT network into different subnets and isolate part of the network while being attacked, or redirect suspicious traffic for analyzing. Furthermore, such a network infrastructure should be compatible with the existing security solutions, and adaptable to the dynamic network, such as new devices or protocols to have a better performance in the future.
