@maytag99: Well it's pretty simple, as long as there are different groups with different cultures (ethnic or otherwise) people will notice those differences, and pass judgments. We can try to train people to have discretion, and to see the individual rather than the group. Unfortunately we're doing a very poor job of that right now, so expect discrimination to only get worse.
@cwu913: Nobody should ever agree that deciding to accept a student into a university based on race is appropriate or fair. Accepting students based on race is the definition of discrimination.
@oxly187:I came from a poor family. 30,000 less a year. Now i make 150g. The only way to succeed is to start early. I'm an immigrant starting from the bottom, cleaning house, and offices at an early age. But i always knew study, hard work pays off. Yes, you may need to work harder, and it may not be far. But so what, life isn't fair. You should begrudge any whos parents helped them. Just say Im going to help my child that way. Here is where my generational wealth starts.
@4850937:If people are behind, maybe give them resources not jobs. Jobs need merit.
@cwu913:When you talk about people that earn degrees that come from poor/rich families, the types of degrees have to play a factor. That wasn't discussed.
