- July 8th - First day of school!
- August 16th - Last day of school before track out!
- Please send your child to school with a water bottle and a snack every day.
- Please put a change of clothes in your child’s backpack in case they need them.
READING:
- We will begin the year by building good reading habits. Students will also learn what it means to be a reader and a thinker!
MATH:
- We will be collecting data using surveys and data tables. Students will be comparing data amounts, and describing which have more and less and representing their work using pictures.
PHONICS:
- In Letterland, we will review our short vowel sounds (a, e, i, o, u) and apply this to decoding and spelling words.
WRITING:
- We will be working on handwriting and spelling to begin the year, then we will learn about sentence structure and how to write a complete sentence.
Please encourage your children to read every night, and/or read to them. Discuss the story after reading, and ask if they can retell the story to you. Reading daily will support reading fluency and comprehension skills.
Letterland and math review homework will be sent home every Monday.
