Fisheries Monitoring Center(FMC) was established

Fisheries Monitoring system in full operation; FMC started monitoring all Korean distant water fishing vessels operating worldwide

Electronic Reporting System (ERS) was developed and introduced

Korea Fisheries Info Management System (KFIMS), a web service for vessel operators, was developed

  • Proactively prevent IUU fishing!
  • 24/7 real-time monitoring of Korean distant water fishing vessels and their movement
  • Manage catch and fishing activity data (daily fishing activities, transshipment, landing, etc.)
  • Provide education and outreach programmes for industry stakeholders to raise awareness on IUU fishing
  • Share IUU related information with global network
  • Validate catch certificates (croakers and saury) to prevent illegal catch distribution in domestic market
