  • 1st step: Enroll and Schedule as normal

  • Please inform clients that they will need to complete their VASAP (Virginia Alcohol Safety Action Program) paperwork and vendor referral form and turn it into their case manager.

  • VASAP will then send Lifesafer the VASAP referral form we need electronically.

  • You will need to follow up at a later time in your "Teams Chats" to verify that we have received their ASAP referral. Sometimes a client will have their case manager send it to us.

To check on the status of a VASAP referral, you will use the "Teams Chat". 

Use the Drivers License Number and/or their name and DOB to make the request. 

Then Sales Leadership will search for the referral, and either will email it to you or let you know we do not have it on file.��If not on file, instruct the client to notify VASAP that they are using �Lifesafer as their interlock provider. If they already have done this, it�may not have reached our TREDS system as of yet.��These records are sent electronically and we receive access to them as soon as they are posted to the VASAP database.

  • Once you have received the clients VASAP referral, notate their PLUS account with:

Taking the Monitoring Agency from the referral, find the corresponding ASAP # Code on the

 VASAP Contact List:

Then enter it in 'Update Info' tab; Program and Case # fields on the Clients PLUS Account Information in the format shown below.

Next, click ‘Save’ to save these updates to the clients account.

You will then need to save the clients Case Manager to

their Plus account.

�Select ‘Update Program Monitors’ in PLUS.

Using the VASAP referral, select the clients Case Manager from the drop down menu.

Select ‘Assign Monitor’ to save this Case Manager to the clients PLUS account

Next, you’ll add the clients vehicle information to their PLUS account if it wasn’t collected during enrollment. This will also be found on their VASAP referral/paperwork.

It is key to collect the VIN and plate numbers. Take this time to make sure you have the correct vehicle on file as well, as this can impact the reporting accuracy for our clients.

To add this to the account, select Update Vehicle Info in PLUS. Then you will be able to edit the desired vehicle.

  • Out of state installs go to specific agents who have been trained to handle VA Out of State callers. If you receive a call like the examples seen below, Do NOT proceed with enrollment and reach out to an agent via "Microsoft Teams Chats." If the agent is not available send an email to one of the agents listed and they will follow up on a later date. 

Example:

  • Ordered by Virginia but wants installation in another state.
  • Ordered by a different state but wants installation in Virginia.
