NIPUN BHARAT
National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy.
Under Samagra Shiksha, the dedicated mission NIPUN Bharat was launched by the government of India on 5th July 2021.
As per NEP 2020, “the highest priority of the education system will be to achieve universal foundational literacy and numeracy in primary school by 2025. The rest of this Policy will become relevant for our students only if this most basic learning requirement (i.e., reading, writing, and arithmetic at the foundational level) is first achieved.
This scheme ensures that every child in India gains foundational numeracy and literacy by the end of Grade 3.
NIPUN Bharat focuses on transforming the monotonous education system into an integrated, enjoyable, all-inclusive and engaging.
NIPUN Bharat Mission has declared the overall National targets in achieving learning outcomes, including year wise outcomes ( Balvatikas / Grade 1 / Grade 2 / Grade 3 ) to be achieved by the year 2026-27 in Literacy (Oral/Reading/Writing) and Numeracy.
