RELATIONSHIP CHART

RATING SCALE:

Y Axis: Confidence in Product Manager (i.e., Does this person see you as credible in the product manager role?)

    • 0 = None. These people do not know you well enough to have formed an opinion about your ability as a product manager. If you are new to the role, you may plot most people here because no one really knows you yet. If they are new to their role, they may have not had a chance to work with you closely enough yet.
    • 1 = Low. These folks perceive you as somewhat credible but believe you have much room for improvement.
    • 2 = Medium. These people have confidence in you. You have proven yourself in their eyes. There is some room for improvement, but they believe you are credible and can get the job done.
    • 3 = High. These are the people who have almost total confidence in you. They have seen you shine and will go to bat for you.

X Axis: Confidence in Product (i.e., Does this person believe in the product itself and the vision for its future?)

    • 0 = Unclear. These folks have not yet had a chance to hear about the product and the product vision or are still unclear about them. They have not dismissed or embraced the product but need more information to form an opinion.
    • 1 = Skeptic. These people do not believe in the product or the vision for its future. They may not believe in the viability of the product itself, have misgivings about the go-forward plan, or both.
    • 2 = Accept. These are the people who accept the product as sustainable and the vision as workable. There may be room for more enthusiasm, but they generally believe the product has merit.
    • 3 = Support. These folks fully support the product and believe the vision is the best path forward for it.
